YOUTH DRAMA WORKSHOPS AT CHT

Youth Drama Workshops are held several times a year and range from 4 - 8 week sessions. Each workshop focuses on learning different dramatic skills for the young actor or actress.

Winter Monologue Workshop

This six week long workshop is designed to give young actors a process for building a character through monologue study. Using theatre games, improvisation, physical and vocal work, and an introduction to Stanislavski’ s methods, the actors will go through the process of creating a role and end the class with a great audition piece. Family and friends are invited to attend an informal performance on the last day of class.  Classes are held on Saturdays 9am-12pm, January 20th – ¬February 24th.  Ages 10-16. Tuition $175.

Spring Scene Study Workshop

Designed as a traditional actor’s scene study class, this 6 week workshop  builds on the methods learned in our monologue workshop by moving into acting with a partner. The actors will learn how to listen and trust one another on stage; how to make strong acting choices; and how to take direction. Family and friends are invited to attend an informal performance of the scenes on the last day of class. Classes are held on Saturdays 9am - 12pm, March 24th - May 5th, except for April 7th.  Ages 10-16. Tuition $175.
